right but i think having the element of picks in a pool to be bid on will spice up UFA and also help struggling teams out

It's a fair point, but I think it's better to limit the ways people can mismanage cap. At least without the pool people would be using cap on UFAs instead of a 2nd round rookie who may never do anything. That's all.

But it makes it too easy for people to resign players without having to give up picks as well.

I hear you Pats but isn't cap the deterrent to resigning players? Why should it always cost you picks to resign players? Why not make the cap cost to extend more lofty? Allowing a team to extend 2 out of 53 players isn't really that much. Otherwise I'd say leave it.
I think until you get a better feel for your ability to maintain 32 active owners having a bid on a pool of picks that most of the teams may miss out on anyway just doesn't feel like a great idea to decide on now. The more active teams will load up and others will get worse.
I defer to the group.

it would be a choice, you wpuldnt always have to do a second extension, it would be up to any given GM. the extensions could cost some money anyway depending on the player. Im really not too concerned about maintaining GM's... there will always be people willing to give it a go. I just dont know that I feel two free extensions would be that great of a thing. the goal is to keep the league as a whole competative and giving us something to do in the offseason haha. i think this is the best time to start discussing any sort of rule changes, then people can actively plan for it and be ready to go in the future.

I hate the idea of two extensions. It's going to make free agency not as fun because not as good of players will be there. Also will make teams stay relatively the same, because they won't be drafting players. I think one is a lot as it is, but two might make the offseason boring, and if there isn't activity in the offseason the league will die.

and 50 roster spots. there are already about 60 some contracts that are 1 year long, who wont be able to resign and this will keep happening every year.
