DOT Members,
Not that it makes it a difference, but just would like to say that although this request appears to each of you after the results of the game, the original request took place before the end of the week's games. Also, I am not sure why Seattle didn't show-up to accept the trade until game day, but didn't want to see his hard work in putting a team together go in vain. None the less, thanks for hearing my appeal. I appreciate all of you for sharing your thoughts on the matter.

I will have to agree with the consensus on this appeal. I think my biggest issue with the whole trade is that Seattle had plenty of time to get on and accept the trade. There is not much for me to think about here, the trade was not approved before the start of the game. If there is one thing to come from this appeal I would be for installing a deadline of trades on game day. For example: if a trade gets posted all acceptance posts and votes have to be in by 10AM EST or the trade can’t be processed until Tuesday after all weeks games have been played. I think this situation shows that there is to many possible complications if trying to get trades processed before afternoon games or even Monday night games. These are just my thoughts. I am grateful for the appeal process, good things usually come from it.

I also agree with the consensus also. I feel Sunday is off limits for acceptance and approval. My suggestion would be that any trade must be made accepted and voted on by midnight Friday night EST. In order for that trade to be eligible for that week. Obviously Thursday night players would not count for the acquiring team.

I think we have enough of a preliminary consensus for the appeal to be denied. I will not take it to an official vote because I believe our sample of denial for appeal is overwhelmingly against. However, I will give the Colts GM a 24 hour right for call for an official vote if he chooses.
I want to thank all DOT members for their participation in this thread, I also want to thank the Colts GM for a critical analysis of the situation, as I look forward to hearing from all GM's that have any concerns in league affairs.

Thanks Frank,
I agree that there is no need for a vote, and again would like to thank all members for sharing their thoughts on the matter. As it turns out, the approval would not have changed the outcome of the game in question anyway, which wasn't my point as much as it affects the bottom-line, which atm is neither here nor there.
To me, the denial basically boils down to the trade NOT being approved by the start of the game, and therefore invalid. I completely understand this and therefore suggestions, at least imo, for assigning deadlines to avoid this type of situation in the future is moot. DOT's decision is based upon trades being either approved by game time or not, which is not difficult to understand. The rules are the rules and they are clear enough where no exception needs to be made.
