We are in the home stretch in Legacy; some divisions are all sorted out, and others are in complete flux (especially in the NFC). Some extremely impactful division games on slate this week (CAR/ATL, NYJ/NEP, GBP/DET, NYG/DAL, PHI/WAS). At the bottom of the standings, so any 1-8 and 2-7 teams are jockeying for the lottery picks this offseason. Exciting times as always.
32. (=) Cincinnati Bengals (0-9)
Despite putting up a healthy 158 points this week, the Bengals remain in the driver’s seat for 1.01. Not a bad situation to be in all things considered. Promising defensive performances up and down the lineup, plus potential QB of the future Drew Lock having his best game as a pro project positively on the last winless Legacy squad.
31. (-1) Indianapolis Colts (1-8)
The Colts will have to completely restock the offensive cupboard this offseason. Remarkable few players on the offensive side of this roster have blossomed, even ones that appeared to be interesting cases in the preseason.
30. (-1) Cleveland Browns (1-8)
Hey, props to the Browns for leaving Brees in when an elite talent like Flacco is starting.
29. (+2) Minnesota Vikings (1-8)
Our beloved Vikings are not a good squad. That said, it’s been a pretty bad luck year for them as well. Breshad Perriman was signed in the hopes he would continue to be a good, not great receiver with very good speed. He’s barely been on the field this season, but he’s been something of a target magnet whenever he manages to stay healthy. 30 points this week for Perriman as the Vikings fall to Philly.
28. (=) San Francisco 49ers (1-8)
Tua looks good! That’s a massive win for San Francisco. The rookie encrusted offense continued to be a roller coaster week to week while the defensive depth dooms the teams chances at falling in the draft order.
27. (=) Houston Texans (2-7)
If Laura trims the Xavier Grimbles of the world off her roster this offseason and finds some quality depth, the Texans will shoot up the ladder.
26. (=) Arizona Cardinals (2-7)
Man, Zaccheaus looked good! The Cardinals aren’t going to get many more wins this season but can still improve their stock with big games like this from players acquired on the cheap. There are just too many holes on the roster to put up big numbers weekly.
25. (=) Chicago Bears (3-6)
Da Bears are officially 0-6 since throwing in the towel earlier this season. There is something kind of impressive about that.
24. (-1) Jacksonville Jaguars (3-6)
Bye weeks and injuries let yet another one slip by the Jags, this time against the Chargers. They proved they have a solid talent base this season with a few blow up scores. Better luck would have the win total looking a little nicer.
23. (-1) Buffalo Bills (3-6)
The Bills were hot on the trade deadline and made some, in my opinion, very forward looking deals. I look forward to seeing how Junior makes the new assets into a team capable of winning against their division rivals.
22. (-1) Kansas City Chiefs (3-6)
The Chiefs have the hard part, offensive weapons, seemingly figured out! Take the rest of their 2020 lumps into consideration, but the Chiefs are looking up.
21. (-1) Baltimore Ravens (3-6)
The Jets buzzsaw claimed another victim this weekend with this Ravens loss. Baltimore has some fat to cut also on this roster, but they have a solid defense and some good offensive pieces to grow on.
20. (+4) San Diego Chargers (3-6)
Dalvin Cook and some other players play for the Chargers.
19. (-4) Green Bay Packers (4-5)
This loss to Dallas effectively has the Packers sitting on the outside looking in this season. I blame Justin Jackson, the Packers weren’t the only fantasy team that got bit by that surprise injury.
18. (+1) New Orleans Saints (5-4)
The Saints took down the Seahawks in a massive upset to stay above .500 on the year. I’m very excited to see how they look with another offseason of good management under their belt.
17. (+1) Dallas Cowboys (5-4)
Chalk one spoiler up to the Cowboys, who have blew a massive hole in the defending champ’s bid for a division title this week with a 162-153 win over Green Bay. This Cowboys team has a playoff caliber offense.
16. (+1) Denver Broncos (5-4)
I’m just saying, Kevin. If I would have told you your Broncos would be
1.) Scoring over 200 in week 9,
2.) With a winning record in week 9
3.) Only one game behind the Dolphins in week 9, you’d consider it a pretty successful season. Denver should not struggle with the Chargers and Colts on their way to a week 12 blowoff matchup with the Raiders. Imagine if this team had a kicker.. 😉
15. (+1) Pittsburgh Steelers (6-3)
The Steelers will officially take the AFC North crown. With a key contributor in Kenny Golladay hobbled, it remains to be seen how they will fare in the playoffs, but the divisional battleground has been a playground for this league managed squad.
14. (-2) Detroit Lions (6-3)
Detroit missed their chance to officially stamp out Green Bay for the NFC North title by falling to the Giants after scoring only 143 points. One or two players really need to emerge for them to have a shot in a rough NFC playoff.
13. (=) New England Patriots (6-3)
Unfortunately for the Patriots, the wrong 4th string Cowboys QB seems to have gotten the job leaving them with no starter until Andy Dalton returns or the ‘Boys turn to 5th string QB Cooper Rush.
12. (+2) Tampa Bay Buccaneers (4-5)
The Buccaneers, essentially out of playoff contention, led the league in scoring this week with 240 points. The 4-5 Buccaneers are 5th in Legacy in overall points scored.
11. (=) Philadelphia Eagles (6-3)
Philly survived a bad outing this week, beating the 1-8 Vikings by 32 points. They need to step up the production with three teams capable of beating them to finish the season in WAS, DET and NYG.
10. (-4) Seattle Seahawks (6-3)
Up and down and up and down, that’s the song of Seattle this year. They hit a sour note against a jazzy Saints club this week and fell to 6-3. After a trip so San Francisco this week, Seattle will face a must win game against Atlanta and an uphill battle versus the Rams.
9. (+1) Miami Dolphins (6-3).
Man. Miami finally gets CMC and Thomas back healthy this week, on Joe Burrow’s bye week. What happens? CMC goes off and the Dolphins collect their W, but CMC hurts his shoulder and is now likely to miss time. Miami is hobbling to the finish line, but should still secure a playoff spot with two easy games on deck. Hopefully for Miami, CMC will return in time for week 12 against the Patriots.
8. (+1) Tennessee Titans (7-2)
With some big talent on defense and plenty of depth to lean on offensively, the Titans have quietly chugged along over the last month to a 4-0 record that has them in contention for a 1st round bye week.
7. (+1) New York Giants (7-2)
The Giants are big favorites right now to see the 1st wildcard spot. That could still change, they are even still in the running for a 1st round bye if Washington and Carolina struggle to close the season. They lost Preston Williams to IR this week, bad timing for a key contributor to go down.
6. (+1) New York Jets (7-2)
The merry band of depth players known as the Jets have the longest winning streak in Legacy aside from the undefeated Rams at 5 wins. A chain with no weak link, the Jets compete every week and now sit atop the AFC East with three winnable but tough games remaining vs NE, PIT, and BUF. Can Dobbins finally get a bigger role?
5. (-1) Atlanta Falcons (6-3)
Here’s the deal for Atlanta: They have a two week gut check ahead of them. They lost ground in an extremely tight playoff race this week by losing to the Rams, and they play the 7-2 Panthers and 6-3 Seahawks next. The results of these matches could propel Atlanta to an NFC South leading position, or put them on the outside looking in on the wildcard race.
4. (+1) Washington Football Team (8-1)
No QB, no problem as Washington puts up 204 points and rolls on. No easy wins remain on the schedule with Philly, Green Bay, and a dangerous Cowboys team due up next.
3. (=) Carolina Panthers (7-2)
Carolina’s offense is looking very strong right now on the back of news that CMC is set to miss some time, plunging Mike Davis back into a role he has shined in this season. The Panthers have some issues with defensive depth that may play a role if they can’t sneak into a 1st round bye. A week 13 wildcard match would have to be played without star defenders Tre Boston and Devin White.
2. (=) Las Vegas Raiders (8-1)
A bad slate of bye weeks sapped some of the Raiders offensive output, but they take one from the Colts with a 100 point margin.
1.(=) Los Angeles Rams (9-0)
The Rams had five goose eggs on defense this week and some pretty underwhelming performances on offense. That said, they still put up over 200 points, which is a benchmark to shoot for because it gives you a chance to beat most anybody. The Rams collect another W.
