Thanks for running those simulations Frank, I think that they show that we do need DL speicific points otherwise they will be left behind regardless of the other IDP scoring changes we make.
I would suggest we start by adjusting Tackles, Assists, and TFL as they would benefit both the run stuffing linemen as well as the pass rushers, this would both increase the points at the top, but also add further depth to the positions by allowing linemen who get less chance to rush the passer to score more points per week.
Maybe start with: Tackles: 3pts Assists: 1.5pts TFL: 2pts
If this proves to be too high then we can adjust them down, or maybe move the points for a sack to be a little less if its only the pass rushing linemen who are scoring too high.

I am currently running a mock on DE's and DT's. I have raised DE tackles from 1.5 up to 2.0 and Assists from 1 up to 1.5 I have raised DT tackles from 1.5 up to 2.5 and Assists from 1 up to 1.5
Granted these increases may be a little low, but lets see what the numbers look like
It will take a few hours for MFL to update results
Ill let you guys know

The mock numbers are in for DT's and DE's
Using this scoring method:
I have raised DE tackles from 1.5 up to 2.0 and Assists from 1 up to 1.5
I have raised DT tackles from 1.5 up to 2.5 and Assists from 1 up to 1.5
Here is what I found based on top end players breaking an average ppg of 10 points or more:
DT's went from 2 up to 23 DE's went from 11 up to 60
As you can see a drastic change, maybe even too much of a change for one season.

Actually, Im wondering if I did something wrong with this mock, these numbers are coming in way too high for the minimal changes I made to scoring.

You'd need to set the specific scoring for DTs to be Tackles: 1pt Assist: 0.5pts Fot DEs: Tackles: 0.5pts Assist: 0.5pts As it adds these points to the general scoring for all defensive players rather than replacing.

Okay, hopefully I figured this out on MFL
I am running another mock on increasing DE's and DT's Tackles from 1.5 up to 2.5, and Assists from 1 up to 1.5
It will take a few minutes for MFL to update.
I will give you guys results

Okay, the numbers are in for the mock scoring on DT's and DE's Raising tackles from 1.5 up to 2.5 and raising assist from 1 point up to 1.5 on DE's and DT's only. Here's what we got: Players that broke an average of 10 points per game or more: DT's went from 2 up to 11 DE's went from 11 up to 25 Both the DT and DE position also have a number of players teetering close to the 10 ppg mark as well As 19 DE's are now at the 9ppg mark, and 7 DT's are at the 9ppg mark as well. This also takes into account the other scoring changes we mocked, including raising the Pass Defense, QB Hits and slightly raising Sacks. Top 3 DE's 1. Garrett 16.3 2. Bosa 15.9 3. Q. Williams 15.4 Top 3 DT's 1. Buckner 16.4 2. Donald 14.9 3. Richardson 12.4
These look like solid improvements, but not overly radical.

One final stat
If all these changes were to be made whole sale.
Which consists of the following:
Raising Sacks up to 4.5 points Raising Passed Defense up to 2.5 points Raising QB Hits up to 1 points Raising DE and DE Tackles Only up to 2.5 points Raising DE and DT Assists Only up to 1.5 points
The league top 100 scoring would go from 15 Defensive players breaking into the top 100, to 27 Defensive players breaking into the top 100.
Again, nothing overly radical, but a nice improvement.

I like the look of that quite a bit. I think those stats/top 100% are much more true to on field valuations.

Appreciate the time you've spent helping work out a fair raise for this year Frank, totally agree that this should improve the depth and competitiveness of the league. We can see how it goes next year (Perhaps OLBs are a little too strong and DTs a little too weak) and if we need to adjust then we can make small changes, I don't see any need for a major change like this again.
