Good afternoon everybody,
As the result of much deliberation, the league has agreed to the terms of our first GM swap. Giants GM Anthony, who was interested in a team swap last year, has been proposed to take on the Buffalo Bills roster going forward.
As a condition of this move, Anthony has agreed to send the Pittsburgh Steelers 2023 1st round pick (13th overall) back to Pittsburgh. It is no secret that Bills and Steelers were kicked from the league simultaneously in part because of their shady trade history always favoring Buffalo's draft stock. Anthony agreed that sending that 1st would be fair to give the incoming Steelers GM a better shot at success.
Anthony has put a dominant team on the field for 9 straight years, featuring 8 NFC East titles, 3 NFC Championships and one League Championship back in 2014. He has been vocal about his desire to start fresh in a league he has been in for a decade and try to find the same success on another roster. Anthony would leave the incoming owner of the Giants with a slew of elite talent and valuable players that they could use to craft their roster how they see fit.
The Bills on the other hand feature one of the weakest player pools in Legacy. They have two advantages: Josh Allen and good draft class this year. The rest of this roster features very little in the way of even mid range talent, with most productive players having large contracts or were plucked from the waiver wire in the middle of the season. We wanted a seasoned GM to take over this spot because if those draft picks are whiffed on, the Bills are going to go from winless to even worse in the coming years.
Please give thoughtful consideration to this move that we believe is in the best interest of Legacy. We already have a seasoned and effective GM interested in the Giants pending approval who we believe will steer that ship successfully to avoid the potential meltdown of a top roster.
