I think this has kind of been mentioned, but I thought Iād create a separate post. š
Could we look at possibly changing 1 of the following?
1: Add a second extension (each team gets two extensions during the offseason)
2: Keep only 1 extension but make it up to 4 years
With the elimination of extending a player twice, I think we could look to add one or both of these options.

Both sound fun, but I think the reasoning behind stopping the 2nd extension was to enhance FA since there were too few prospects last year.
That being said, I don't think 2 extensions would work, because it would put the league in a similar situation to the 2nd extension, but I think the extra year could work. A compromise

I know teams like keeping their best players on the cheap, but its better for the league to have less player retention and better RFA/FA pools.
It allows rebuilding teams to pick up star players where stronger teams with less cap are unable to do so and stops super teams from holding onto their players for long stretches of time until they become irrelevant.
