After two years of feedback, I am proposing this simple solution to our bye week issue.
The Legacy regular season ends currently with a very important week 13 divisional game and playoffs begin in week 14. The past two years, teams (and trade negotiations) have been severely altered by these wildcard round bye weeks. To address this:
1. Allow, before kickoff in week 13, teams to decide to designate a player with a week 14 bye as ineligible for playing in their week 13 matchup, and that players week 13 stats would instead apply to week 14. 2. In week 13, the player would be left on the team's bench as if week 13 was there bye week. 3. During week 14, that player MUST be placed into the lineup with their week 13 points applied.
-Justin Herbert (Wk 14 bye) designated a week 14 replacement. -Chargers can use any other eligible QB they have on roster for week 13 -Justin Herbert scores 11 points in week 13 -During the Chargers week 14 bye, Justin Herbert is placed into the lineup and 11 points are added to their score. This is a locked result, and the team can not "bench" Herbert for another player after declaring them eligible for week 14.
This rule change would take effect during the 2023 season.

Aren't Week 13 Games typically division match-ups? Unless that changes, I'll have to vote NO. Not willing to sacrifice such an important game.

Aren't Week 13 Games typically division match-ups? Unless that changes, I'll have to vote NO. Not willing to sacrifice such an important game. The other (good) option is to make this the week 12 games, thanksgiving week where there are typically no byes. I personally think week 13 is the fairest way to do it. Considering the player actually has a wildcard bye, this would likely force some difficult decisions for teams. It should be noted though, week 13 is also very light on bye weeks and you wouldn't HAVE no declare anyone week 14 eligible. If this vote fails i'll absolutely repropose Week 12. 3rd options is probably the PPG option but I don't think that's fair at all. Complete bye week schedule for 2022 NFL regular season Week 6: Detroit Lions, Houston Texans, Las Vegas Raiders, Tennessee Titans Week 7: Buffalo Bills, Los Angeles Rams, Minnesota Vikings, Philadelphia Eagles Week 8: Kansas City Chiefs, Los Angeles Chargers Week 9: Cleveland Browns, Dallas Cowboys, Denver Broncos, New York Giants, Pittsburgh Steelers, San Francisco 49ers Week 10: Baltimore Ravens, Cincinnati Bengals, New England Patriots, New York Jets Week 11: Jacksonville Jaguars, Miami Dolphins, Seattle Seahawks, Tampa Bay Buccaneers Week 12: Week 13: Arizona Cardinals, Carolina Panthers Week 14: Atlanta Falcons, Chicago Bears, Green Bay Packers, Indianapolis Colts, New Orleans Saints, Washington Commanders

We could change the schedule: Currently week 12 is non conference and week 13 is division matchup
Can we swap those weeks? Then week 13 won’t mean as much if we have to sit our QB

I’m gonna lock this thread and repropose as week 12 OR week 13 when I get home to give the folks that prefer week 12 a fair shake
