Baltimore Ravens (-25.7) vs San Diego Chargers: The number 1 seeds in the AFC come into their first playoff battle as an underdog? That's right, according to MFL. As if the major holes at the WR position wasn't enough, losing Gronk for the year might have been the big blow to doom the prospects of the San Diego Chargers. However, the Ravens have their own problems on their roster, as they were exposed last week with virtually nothing to show from the TE and DE positions. The Ravens roster issues were so glaring during the Wild Card round that major underdog Jacksonville almost pulled off what might have been the biggest upset of the 2016 playoffs. Look for the team with the better balanced starting 20 to with this battle, as I would prefer to have the holes at DE and TE, rather than missing Gronk and no better than a WR4 on the roster. The Ravens will pull this one out, but it wont be pretty.
Pittsburgh Steelers (-28.7) Miami Dolphins: This will be a battle between two teams who have been going in the opposite directions of late. While the Dolphins come in as the number 2 seed in the AFC, the past month has been a struggle putting any points on the board. While the Steelers on the other hand come in as one of the hottest teams in Legacy NFL. The Dolphins were really hurt for a few weeks with the loss of Stephen Diggs, and while he is back and playing on Sunday, reports are showing that Mohamed Sanu will miss this divisional playoff match-up which will hurt for a team trying to find ways to score points. The Steelers on the other hand come in fairly healthy, keep an eye on the injury report for DeVante Parker, but this is a roster that has been consistently putting up over 200 points a week, which is the magic number in Legacy. GM Frank has this organization going in the right direction, this team is young, deep and well balanced. They are the favorites, and barring any magical performances from the Dolphins squad, the Steelers are the clear favorite to advance to the conference final.
Chicago Bears vs Los Angeles Rams (-57.5): There will be no more doubting the Bears from this pundit, and while the holes at the QB and TE positions are glaring, the Bears come in with maybe the best defensive unit in Legacy NFL. When interviewing this week, Rams GM Frank stipulated that 'we are in no way overlooking the Bears' as a possible mega clash between the Rams and Cards looms in the NFC Title game. Further complicating the matter is the injury to Julio Jones, as the Rams scramble to find an adequate replacement on game day. Bottom line is that the Rams are the favorites, and the Rams should win because of the better balanced starting 20, however from talking to Rams officials, there are good reasons to be nervous.
Arizona Cardinals (-44.2) vs Washington Redskins: GM Blaine comes into this match-up with a fairly healthy line-up, in comparison to last years playoffs, and he says he is thankful for that in that he feels there is a more realistic shot at success in 2016 than last year. The Cards come in as the highest scoring team in the league, with both a balance of offense and defense that will send shivers down the spine of opposing GM's. However, the Cards have been hit with a rash of injuries which is starting to affect their depth, and a the loss of Derrick Johnson last Thursday night will put a chink in that defensive armor that has been so strong this year. The bottom line is that the Cards are the stronger team, and while the Redskins will put up a fight, unless GM Blaine gets a memorable playoff performance or two from his players, the Cards should advance to the NFC Title Game.
