The league is awarding a 2018 4th round comp pick to the Kansas City Chiefs for a mistake that was partly of the league and partly of the Chiefs GM.
Vince Williams was rightfully signed by the Chiefs in May 2016, but an admin did not properly document both on MFL, which resulted in the player being signed twice. That is the fault of the League.
However, once the player was signed by another team and played starting from week 1 and the entire season, the Chiefs GM did not notify the league of the problem until after the 2016 was completed and well into the 2017 off-season.

The league will award a 3rd, 4th and 5th round comp picks to the San Fransisco 49ers for the new ownership rights of that GM. This will be a one time award from the league to the new ownership to make up for past neglect by other management teams.

No, its not a typo. In Legacy we decided a few years back that we would break with other leagues and instead of giving a free cap drop to new GM's, that we would assign them comp picks as way to get started for a variety of reasons. The Jets did win the AFC last year, but it came with most of its valuable pics traded away, and I want the new GM to have a way to make his own mark on his own team. Now, I did take into account the fact that the Jets won the AFC, as the comp picks I assigned are very low, so I balanced the scales as best I could and still honored our league pledge to give new GM's a unique start to their careers here at Legacy, while considering the competitive nature of the team.
Lets be honest, you could possibly argue that the late 3rd may have some inherent value, but the late 4th and the late 5th will be wild card picks. I don't think this is too unreasonable, especially because their are some bad salaries on this Jets team, and we are not giving this GM a free drop. The likelihood would be that a free drop could possibly be more valuable than 3 very late rookie draft picks.

The league will be assigning the Indianapolis Colts a 3rd round comp pick for my incompetence in regards to updating the salary formula on Google Docs. I know that GM's plan their free agency far in advance, and to have your available cap cut by 40% in the midst of free agency, by an action to no fault of his own leaves a bad taste in my mouth to say the least. I would like to offer my apologies to the Colts GM for this league screw up. Just so this mistake never happens again, I will implement on the yearly offseason schedule a specific mandate for league managers to double check all Google Doc formulas at the beginning of the offseason so this mistakes never happens again. I want to thank GM Darryl for being a class act.
While there were 3 other teams who's formula's were wrong on Google, those teams cap number changes were insignificant as compared to the Colts organization, and thus only the Colts will receive a comp pick for this league mistake.

Pick 3.38 will be the pick reflecting this decision, and it has been updated on MFL.
