Okay guys, this is something ive been pondering, and that is getting rid of round 5 of the rookie draft. In this league, we have an exceptionally big draft, because not only do we have 5 rounds of draft picks, but we also give out comp picks to this league for all new GM's, plus a few for the playoff pickems I implement during the playoffs. If we were to remove round 5 starting in 2020, that would allow for less frivolous trading as these picks are often given away from competing teams, plus it will give a bigger dimension to the undrafted rookie free agency. Thoughts?

I like 5th rounds for trading but also gives team a jump on udfa bidding

I like the fifth round for drafting but I think that getting rid of it could be beneficial. Removing the 5th round would help shorten draft and create a more interesting UDFA period. I also think it is rare to find a really good player in the 5th round so it would avoid teams from carrying "dead weight" type players on their teams.

NooooOOOOoooOOOOOoooooOOOOoooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The 5th round is for the contenting teams with tight cap and avoid competing in the UDFA market. If someone doesnt want to draft, than let it skip. Granted ive only found 3 starters in 5yrs of 5th rounds, but ive also found 3 more in UDFA, some of which became huge contributors to my championships.
Im not gonna lie, the most annoying thing about doing my deep research is putting a bid on a literal nobody, and people jumping on him knowing i know my stuff and/or do a quick search on the guy they would have never thought of till he hit the field. For example i traded back into the 5th, drafted Robert Tonyan with the specifically to not compete with other teams. One look at the highlight reel and suddenly he goes for 1 or 2m instead of 500k.

That's a very strong argument in favor of keeping the 5th round.
