We havnt made any changes to our point system in a few years, as it has been a very good point system after we made some initial changes in the early years of legacy.
One point to consider, should a pass defense (1.25 points) be of a higher value than a tackle (1.50).
While we have always maintained that a tackle is of greater value, because I believe the tackle represents a play that is finished, a tackle sometimes can mean very lightly forcing somebody out of bounds after another defensive player has forced the offensive player into position for a tackle. In other words, often times tackles can be racked up fairly cheaply. Contrast this with a pass defense, that is a play that in my mind I cannot think of that ever comes cheaply, and always forces a negative from the offense. A tackle can happen 60 yards down the field, with a simple tap out as a ball carrier is getting ready to step out of bounds. But, when is a pass defense ever result after an offense has made a big play? Isnt a pass defense always a negative play for the offense?
Thus, should a pass defense be worth more points than a tackle?

Agreed and it favours the better secondary. They get rewarded then for the proper play rather than the recovery tackle

I agree as I would like to see the CB position become a little more valued

What do you guys think of a half point bump up to 1.75 from 1.25?

I think a half point (0.50) bump would be accordingly. Last year out of the top 100 players in terms of total points scored, 18 were defensive players, almost all of them were LB's, with the exception of 2 DE's and 2 Safties. A half point bump could moderately help CB's and S to come up the point scale as I believe they have been lagging a little in terms of all the other position with the exception of DT's.

I agree with the increase for a pass-defense...granted, since all players at each position are not created equal, naturally, others will benefit as well.
