Last year I proposed to raise contract extension prices on QB's, RB's and WR's. While we were successful in raising prices on the QB extension via league vote, GM's turned down the possibility of raising the contract extensions on RB's and WR's. While I am in favor of a hometown discount in regards to extensions, the RB and WR positions are under paid in this league regarding extensions, and we really need to look at giving those players better market value when GM's do extend those two critical position. Based on historical precedence, I calculated a 7M per contract extension price for booth position in last years vote. The basis of those calculation was based on past contracts in Legacy NFL, as in general terms I see the WR value being based at a 8-10M per year value, thus the 7M number on an extension has a nice discount factored in. I see the value of an RB in the 8-9M range, thus again, the 7M per year number gives an organization a nice discount as well.
While I will let GM's decide again in regards in an attempt to consider better values for these positions, I need GM's to really consider what is the best possibly scenario for the league.

To help ease some anxiety over with GM's that may have a young WR or RB that they are looking to extend, my proposal will be a graduated change, where we will have no increase for the 2019 offseason, but will invoke a 1M increase for the 2020 offseason and 1M for the 2021 season. We did this with the QB extension prices two years ago, and this gives GM's time to plan out their extensions for the future a little better.
Summary:
2019: 0M Increase 2020: 1M Increase 2021: 1M Increase
This will get both the RB and WR positions up to the 7M a year price for extensions, and everybody has time to plan accordingly.

I like the idea of raising the extension price. I think it is a more realistic presentation of what our players deserve contract wise. I think Frank has made a very fair proposal and I am all for it

I like the idea of this increase, waiting till the 2020 and 2021 season makes sense.

Agreed. If a team is willing to hold on to a player, they must also be prepared the pay the price. To much credence has been given to "hometown" discounts. What would these players earn on the open-market again?

I think when we consider the Todd Gurley extension from last year, that went for a measly 5M per year, when I believe market value on him alone could have exceeded 12M per. Just to an indication.
