Good afternoon everyone,
Just want to run something by the league that I thought about. Posting this in Legacy and Destiny. I do not think it is too late to implement starting this year IF the interest and votes are there. This rule has to do with adding a Head Coach to our teams. Below you will find the ideas that I have—these could be changed/improved/adjusted to make better if league members wish. Please add your ideas (positive or negative) to this concept.
1. If your head coach wins his game in real life 4 points you will gain 4 points. If your Head Coach loses in real life you would lose -3 points. MFL tracks this, so no extra work
2. Now how do we get coaches…the first year this rule is implemented we would have a Draft (either random order—which I prefer, or the same order as Rookie Draft). When your OTC you can pick any available Head Coach.
3. For salary I have thought about these prices:
a. picks 1-10 : 5M
b. picks 11-20: 3M
c. picks 21-32: 2M
4. Where the fun happens, the following season-there will be coaches on our teams who get fired in real life and these coaches will automatically be fired in our Leagues (would have a head coach opening).
5. All coaches who have been fired by one team and hired as a HC by another team will get put into the pot. All new first year Head Coaches will get put into the pot
6. Fantasy teams, whose coaches did not get released in Real life, but want to make a coaching change can make a coaching change…these coaches would also get thrown into the pot.
7. Those teams that do not have a Head coach will be allowed to bid on the Pot of available coaches(either your coach was fired in Real Life or You decided a change was necessary)
8. This Hiring Coach Period on our calendar would occur in Late Feb/March...after all Real Life coaches have been hired. I’d give teams from Jan-mid Feb to decide if they want to move on from their coaches.
9. For example, I’m the NYG and say in the First Year draft I selected Adam Gase. He was fired in real life which means Gases would automatically be fired by my team. If Gase signs as a HC, he will go into the pot. Mike McCarthy, say he takes the year off…he would not go into the pot
10. Bidding would follow same bidding rules as Free Agency
11. Few rules, can only have one coach per team. (Everyone will have a coach)
12. Coaches can be traded. But no team can have two or more coaches
I understand this is a rule that is not common---it's just an idea.
All input would be great!!
Thanks Frank for giving me go ahead to post
