The league has assigned week 6 penalty points for both the Texans and the Seahawks for invalid line-up.
In the case of the Texans, they received a 17.9 points penalty for their highest scoring player on Jaron Brown.
In the case of the Seahawks, they received a 35.2 point penalty for their highest scoring player on Russel Wilson.
The point deductions are based on an overall scoring adjustment, rather than giving the actual players a penalty. This will keep accurate statistics on players for league purposes.
In the case of the Texans, the point penalty will NOT effect the outcome of the game, as the Colts have won that game outright. But in the overall scheme, including the the ALL PLAY record, it will take effect and could potentially hurt any team when it comes down to tie breakers in the playoffs.
As far as the Seahawks, we will have to wait until the end of the Monday night game to determine if the scoring adjustment effected the out right game result.
In the case of both teams, the same line-up error was made, only 3 DL instead of 4, while invalidly utilizing an extra player from another position.
I have also started a new rule proposition to potentially simplify the defensive starting line-up for the 2020 season, since the current line-up rule seems to be confusing so many GM's.
