This proposition will be to determine whether we want to change the defensive starting line-up. As you all know, we had a few teams penalized for invalid line-ups last year because our starting defensive unit line-up rules have gotten a little complicated over the years as we have made changes to existing league rules. The current proposition I have proposed will streamline the defensive starting unit, making it easier, while also allowing us to keep the 12 defensive players we start in this league.
NOTE: What the new rule does as an additional benefit is make a 2nd starting Safety mandatory, which is something I have been wanting to do for a long time. Throughout the history of this league, the Saftey position has always been undervalued precisely because we've only been mandated to start one at that position. This new line-up rule will not only make the Saftey position inherently more valuable, but it will be a better reflection of the real life NFL game where high priority is placed on that very important position.
NOTE 2: This new rule proposition takes out the DL Flex, making a second DT mandatory. All GM's need to be aware that this new rule proposition adds two more mandatory positions to start every week (S and DT), and GM's will have to factor these changes in on their rosters starting in 2020 if this proposition passes.
Here is the current defensive starting line-up rule:
1 D 2 DE 3 LB 2 CB 1 S 1 DL Flex (DE or DT) 1 DB Flex (CB or S) 1 Defensive Flex (DL/LB/DB)
Here is the 2020 new proposition rule:
2 DT 2 DE 3 LB 2 CB 2 S 1 FLEX (any position: DT,DE,LB,CB,S)
This new proposition will be pretty hard for GM's to screw up.

We need this updated in the rules. Still have old defensive line up there.
