Just saying that it was an option that you had and every team without a QB had… there were other QB's out there as well. Thad started half the season… I'm just saying that teams aren't even attempting to field starters when the UFA is out there. It makes the league less competitive and somewhat unfair. Free wins for teams in the midst of a playoff hope is quite unjust, especially if it kicks out other teams who had a shot to get in the playoffs.

Lewis started 3 games in are regular season. Me adding him would have done nothing to help my team. As the 1st game no one thought he would do well so no one added him. After that he was owned by the Falcons and didn't start till week 16 and 17 after being released by them.

thats not my point man, whether its Lewis, Freeman, Cassel, Flynn whoever ya know. And its not even just the QB position man, there are some teams that don't even have the minimum starters on defense on their roster, which is what we are trying to avoid as well. The real big point is to have at least a minimum starting roster on your squad.. Your 2 CB's, 2WR 3 LB's, etc… and some teams just simply don't have it, it isn't limited to just QB.

Teams really have nothing to lose by signing a guy for .5 Mil for 1 year… its not that big of a deal.

Tebow is working at ESPN I hear, I'm sure he could be had at .45 for 1 year.

Freeman had one start and is horrible.. Cassel & Flynn just both started making start either in or a week before are playoff. If theres nothing to lose by signing a guy to a 1 year deal the puts up 0 just about every week what's the point of even signing them? To not have empty spots but its still empty just like putting a placeholder in.. And I know its not just QBs that was an exp. but with my team I didn't have a DT until a week ago because there were none in FA worth signing that would make my team better all year long. To me its stupid to spend any money on a guy that is filling in for a starter one week and then done. If the player in my eyes has promise to become a starter or even put up decent number consistently as a back up I will sign him to contract. Just MO

I just wanted to update the vote tally so far on this proposition because it has kind of been lost among the debate.
As of now it's 2-1 in favor of passage of this proposition: 4 out of 7 votes are needed to officially pass

so signing a DT to a year on the cheap that will get you say 1-5pts a week is better than putting up 0 points at the position?

my problem was with teams that had enough players to field a lineup but purposely had them on their bench and only started like 10 guys.I approve 3-1

I've been thinking about this and I feel like in cases it will help the league but I think there will be a few cases that don't deserve to be punished. But this will better the league for the most part and with that I will change my vote to approve (4-0)

Proposition 1 has been approved 4-0, and the proper changes to the rule will be made for the 2014 season.
