Pittsburgh trades:
Vaughn, Ke'Shawn TBB RB $1.50 2024 UFA
McDonald, Vance FA TE $5.00 2021 UFA
2021 1.20
2021 1.24
2022 2nd Pittsburgh
to
Buffalo
for
Carson, Chris SEA RB $10.10 2023 UFA
Spillane, Robert PIT LB $3.00 2022 UFA
Breeland, Bashaud KCC CB $0.75 2022 UFA
2022 3rd Carolina
2022 3rd Buffalo
My thinking on this trade.
Looking at past trades for top player with 1st rounders in return.
Bengals give:
2021 1.28
2021 2.02
2022 1st CIN
Curl, Kamren WAS S - $0.33 (2022) RFA
Dolphins give:
Thomas, Michael NOS WR - $5.00 (2022) UFA
Ok we have a baseline of a top player but was injured and QB position in question.
Carson past 3 years 2018 17.7 avg pts. #14 (missed 2 game) 2019 18.75 avg pts. #11 (missed 1 game) 2020 17.66 avg. pts. 18th ranked (missed 3 games)
Thomas past 3 years 2018 22 avg pts. #6 2019 24.5 avg pts #1 2020 12.7 avg pts. #98 (missed 9 games) With Thomas being injured he still avg 10-12 pts less and no TD's. But he is still worth 2 1st and 1 2nd (that is very early so very close to 3 1st and a top 20 satety with CHEAP salary). I am not saying Carson is Thomas. I am saying Thomas got close to 3 1st and a #20 ranked safety with cheap salary. Thomas this year will have a very hard time trying to go back to his 20 avg. pts. unless NO gets a throwing QB. So Carson should be worth at least 2 1st minimum in this league and probably a little more.
Carson is a UFA so we don't know where he will end up. I am taking a chance but think he lands somewhere as the RB1.
Spillane 9.2 avg and Breeland 8.7 avg. are depth for me. Bush is coming off injury if he doesn't come back fully Spillane will get plenty of playing time. Steelers could release Williams and that makes Spillane the starter next to Bush. Breeland missed 4 games early but is a starter for KC.
Vaugh had a horrible rookie season. I thought he was over rated coming out of college. Last year proved to me he won't ever be a starting NFL RB. Could be a 3rd down back. I have other RB's that I can start and use as backups. That's why I included in this trade.
McDonald is a salary cap dumb to offset Carson's salary
Getting back 2 3rds 2022 and giving up a 2nd 2022 is pretty normal in fantasy these days. My team trying to compete Buffalo going the other way so this is easy in my favor.
I wanted to add other players but with some of the salaries would hurt the trade too much in some other owners eyes I believe.
I feel if an owner wants to trade for players with a high salary but that player is still a very good player they should be able to. I know throwing it all together with tons of players probably made it an easy veto. Take the time to see what I am actually getting from my view.
Each owner has their own values of players and draft picks. This year with NO combine NFL teams I think are going to miss on picks more than past years. So getting vetrans I see is a better way to build my team.
Hope explaining each trade helped you guys understand why I am doing these trades.
