League,
Because the end of the last season left a bad taste in my mouth as far as monitoring my team in the last game of the season, I believe a reminder of the Rules in regards to deliberately tanking be reviewed...The Rules state:
*A full lineup is required to start every week, regardless if a player is a UFA currently or if that player is on a bye week. Every position should be filled.
*Any owner that is found to be deliberately losing (not setting most competitive lineup, not setting lineup at all) will be reviewed by the league and appropriate action will be taken.
*Failure to set your lineup without at least a 3 day notice about an extended absence will lead to a $5M cap fine in the current and next season EACH time this happens.
*An invalid line-up in any given week will result in a scoring adjustment that effectively gives a team a zero for the highest scoring player in their starting line-up, in that same week when the infraction occurs.
As far as the 2nd and 4th Rule above is concerned...I've noticed there is no particular penalty assigned, and number 4, none assigned to a team that is not trying to be competitive. I believe there should be. Perhaps the loss of a high pick or something similar.
Furthermore, in the past we have become accustomed to letting GM's violate these rules. To me, there is NO excuse for a GM NOT to set their line-up weekly OR to set partial line-ups. Really, imho, there is no excuse for a team who has the means to acquire active players during the season NOT to do so...being content with running with FA's week in and week out, but that's a separate issue.
As of now, it has been noted that we have great bunch of GM's...since we do, we should be beyond being pampered and move on to being truly competitive.
Feel free to share your thoughts and ideas, if any...and thanks for taking the time to read.
Darryl
P.S. Good luck to those with intentions of competing for the title this year, and wishing you all a great season ahead!

Unfortunately the Saints are starting the 2021 season with both of there kickers on the IR. But the Saints will have a full lineup out there every week looking to pick up the W’s . Good Luck everyone. Its time for some Football!!

I'm in a baseball league that has a very interesting means of allocating non-playoff draft picks. Essentially, the week they are eliminated from the playoffs they start accumulating "points" based on performance. The team with the most of these "points" receives the 1st pick, 2nd most receives the 2nd pick and so forth through non playoff teams.
It's an interesting way to do it as the worst teams will be mathematically eliminated first (therefore have a head start on accumulating these points), and near playoff teams only have the one week to acquire these points.
So if the first eliminated team is eliminated week 7, they would have 6 weeks to earn points. If they average 150 points they would end up with 900 points in the race for the 1st overall pick, where a team that is eliminated week 12would only have the one week to get points, maybe they'd score 220 week 13.
Maybe a bit experimental but that sure would give the worst teams in the league incentive to add free agents and make trades to improve, raise the value of expiring free agents as well with every team wanting to score points. If the worst team in the league is eliminated week 7 and stops trying, a more active rebuilding owner could still very well beat them for the 1st pick
