I am currently updating the Legacy Rulebook. Below are notes of any changes that are being made to the rules.
- Adding clarifying language regarding offseason roster limitations
-Changed language to reflect causation of Legacy cap space changes (League vote, not NFL finances)
-Added Gaines Adams Rule
-Updated Injured Reserve language to reflect current 48-player requirement.
-IR language clarified to align with current 2022 IR rules post Covid. An excerpt of the NFL rule that we will now mirror in spirit:
"a player must miss at least four games after going on IR before they can return. But teams can now bring back as many as eight players from IR, and in an even bigger changed, teams can bring back a particular player twice (it used to be a player could only return once from IR). If a player comes back twice, it counts as two of the eight slots."
-Removed 5M this year and next year cap hit for invalid rosters, as this rule was not being enforced.
-Updated Playoff Seeding language to reflect the 7 teams from each conference with one bye week per conference rules we have followed since 2020
-Updated RFA language per Darryl and Frank's recommendation
-Moved Snipe Rule to UFA rule section
-Removed 2nd Franchise TAG (mistake on my end, 2nd franchise tags will remain)
-Removed language for 2nd consecutive contract extensions
-Clarified Free Cut language on practice squad players. Any player who has been on the practice squad from week 1 to the conclusion of the season and has never been brought up to the main roster may be waived with no penalty. The deadline for these free cuts will be posted in the offseason schedule, and will likely coincide with the deadline to offer RFA tenders.
-Keeping the Inagural Draft rules for record keeping purposes.
-Noted that teams may only select 15 rookies in a draft, clarified language regarding what happens if a GM has more than 15 picks.
-Removed a "bad trade" example as it was dated
-Removed language regarding non-TAB members being able to vote cointing 1/3 towards approval/veto as it was never used
-Removed "New Owner" trade embargo.
