A popular proposal every year is to extend the trade deadline. After seeing years of opinions on this, I believe the only logical move is to offer the league the option to extend the trade deadline to the end of the regular season. Current state, teams must coast on their rosters for around a month before playoffs begin, and injuries can destroy franchise teams. This also prevents rebuilding teams or teams who may miss the playoffs the ability to take advantage of the top teams need by trading their players late in the year. Coupled with this vote will be the barring of teams signing players to RFA deals upon the closing of the trade deadline, and the barring of teams ability to franchise tag players signed after this deadline.
if approved,
1. The trade deadline would be upon kickoff of the final week of Legacy's regular season. 2. No players signed after the final week of the Legacy regular season would be allowed RFA contracts or be available for the franchise tag (Currently no multi-year deals can be signed)
This shift would apply to the 2023 season.

I think there should be a “middle option” here.
I vote no to extend the deadline to the final week of the regular season but if there was an option to extend it to week 10 or 11 I’d vote for that.

I vote no. I see this as a very slippery slope. By extending the deadline, teams can tank and take advantage of other teams very easily, quickly shifting the balance of power just before the playoffs. Teams have to build in real life to survive injuries, and it's part of the game. In the NFL, at the trade deadline there is uncertainty where each team finishes as well. I don't see why we can't follow suit. My main gripe is I see room for a lot of shenanigans.

Happy for it to be the end of the regular season or to be the start of week 11, I know some people will be voting no for end of season but would vote yes for start of week 11.
I like the addition of no RFA signings and no players signed (or picked up off waivers?) after the deadline to become taggable.

Yessir..If this vote fails I’ll repropose with probably week 12 as the deadline.

with a 55-45 margin and 20 votes as well as a large amount of feedback on how to make this more agreeable, I am going to REPROPOSE this proposition.
