Can a player be renegotiated twice in one offseason? I was told by Ant they couldn't in Destiny but may be different here

There's actually no rule on it, and that is my fault, because I came up with the rule a couple years back without considering the scenario that a player could be traded that was already restructured.

The Ravens here are reverting back the contract to its original structure before the Giants placed their restructure on Newton. Therefor, we will let this restructure go through, and we will make some rule adjustments in 5 days for next offseason. I apologize for the confusion, completely my fault here.

Bears when did I say a player couldn't be restructured twice. Frank did it with Big Ben with no issue. There's no rule, so it is good for now

There's actually two questions at hand here. The first which is, can a player be restructured twice while under the same contract in different years. The second, which just came up, if a player is traded can a player be restructured twice by two different teams in the same year. Again, my foresight came up short when I created this rule, a couple years back, and we will hammer out the rule a little better and put more definitive details together to solve this problem before the start of next season. For now, we will allow multiple contract restructures.

Ant, you said that when I tried to renegotiate Calvin Johnson after I traded for him last year.
Thanks for clarifying Frank.

I do not recall saying that. Apologize if I did. You could do it now if you like.

For the rule for next year, one thing we maybe should consider is that in the NFL, teams are allowed to restructure a contract twice. Something along the lines that if you want to restructure twice, the cap hit goes from 50% to 60% if you decide to cut the player

I would say that if you want to renegotiate again, then the hit bumps it to 75%, or a fully guaranteed contract, the same would also go for extensions.

If we bring it to75% or even fully guaranteed, maybe allowing more than 2m to be moved around will make it more worth it
