Considering the nature of inflationary costs here at Legacy NFL, we need to make changes to the minimum salary system to better deal with rising prices in this league. The league has rejected raising the salary cap several times, but with the prices of RFA's and extensions set to go up this year, and last years raising of the minimum base salary, I am proposing a change to the minimum base salaries again to better reflect the major changes set to take place. I have two options here, one is a more gradual adjustment, while the other is more extensive.
Here is the current base prices for salaries:
0 - $450,000 1 - $500,000 2 - $550,000 3 - $600,000 4-6 - $650,000 7-9 - $750,000 10+ - $800,000
---------------------------------------------------
Here are the two new proposition choices for league members to vote on:
Minimum salary proposal A
0 - $375,000 1 - $425.000 2 - $475,000 3 - $525,000 4-6 - $575,000 7-9 - $625,000 10+ - $700,000
Minimum salary proposal B
0 - $325,000 1 - $375.000 2 - $425,000 3 - $475,000 4-6 - $525,000 7-9 - $575,000 10+ - $625,000

I voted for the higher of the two because there were only two (2) options. Really do not agree with any type of decrease in player salary.
While there have been increases, specifically surrounding RFA tenders/re-signings and extensions, there are also viable offsets that help counteract those costs. For instance, the original contracts on the books have been for the most part decimated - which should drive down franchise costs. Unfortunately for the league, the remaining franchise tag costs were driven-up by GM's...so that is a creature of our own making. We should live with it rather than penalising the players in a world where inflation is a reality.

As I have mentioned many times before, the idea of raising the cap has been presented and rejected by GM's of this league, as I have failed to convey the notion of inflationary costs. For that, it is my fault as commissioner. In regards to changing the base minimum salaries, these were arbitrary numbers that I designed last year for the league when we made some serious changes to the league structure. After further analysis, I believe the salaries scales for this league were too high as I compared them to other 100M cap leagues. With my failure to convince league members to raise the cap, I figured that at the very least we'd adjust the basic minimum salary to better reflect the reality of a 100m cap league. The league started with a base 450k minimum salary for all players regardless of years in the league and positions. I used that as a scale to make these new arbitrary salaries, when in fact they should have been lower from the get go. After implementing a second mandatory DT last year, as part of the new rule, it was clear by the free agent list that some GM's were not willing to sign veteran DT's at an increased salary scale from those changes we made to the league structure, as many decent DT's sat on the waiver wire all year. Honestly, with a 2nd mandatory starting DT meant that teams would have to carry a minimum of two more DT's on their rosters, one as a starter and another as a back-up. This rule change made it hard for alot of GM's, who built their teams around the old salary system, in that carrying 2 more DT's at a minimum salary of 800k was very tough. If we could have raised the salary cap, this would have been a non-issues, but be it as it may, this is more of a reflection of a mistake I made last year and trying to fix it.
